Ganghestar / Austurás

Ganghestar/Margrétarhof have changed their name to Ganghestar/Austurás and also they have been teamed up with two new riders, Glódís Rún Sigurðardóttir and Telma Lucinda Tómasson. Other team members are Sigurður V. Matthíasson, Edda Rún Ragnarsdóttir and Ragnhildur Haraldsdóttir.

Sigurður Vignir Matthíasson, team leader, trains horses in Fákur in Reykjavík with his wife Edda Rún Ragnarsdóttir. Sigurður has been in the national team both at world championships and nordic championships both as a rider and as the team trainer. He has been very successful in both breeding shows and competition and has earned several world championships titles, icelandic championships titles, victories at Landsmót and so on.

Edda Rún Ragnarsdóttir comes from one of the biggest horse family in Iceland and has been riding since she was a young child. Her father is the well known Ragnar Hinriksson and grandfather is Hinrik Ragnarsson. Edda Rún has gotten fantastic results in gæðingakeppni and has won many icelandic championships titles in children's-, young riders-, and adult class, such as in four gait on Reynir frá Hólshúsum at Íslandsmót in 2005.

Glódís Rún Sigurðardóttir is born and raised at Sunnuhvoll in Ölfus where she now traines horses while study at FSU. She has been riding horses since she can remember and with great success. She has won 22 Icelandic Championships titles and won the childrens class three times at Landsmót. Twice has she been a part of the Icelandic national team, both on a Nordic Championship and at the World championship in Berlin 2019. 

Ragnhildur Haraldsdóttir graduated as a riding teacher and trainer from Hólar in 2011. She has been riding since she was a child and is now located at Vallartröð 9 at Selfoss where she trains horses, has some horses for sale and offers riding lessons. She has been successful both on the breeding- and competition track. 

Telma Lucinda Tómasson graduated as a riding teacher and trainer from the University of Hólar. She is a member of the horse club Fákur in Reykjavík where she trains her horses while working as a news anchor at Stöð 2. Telma has been doing good things on the oval track, especially in tölt, a.o. she won tölt T3 in Suðurlandsdeidlin 2019, Kvennatöltið the same year and competed as a wildcard for team Ganghestar/Margrétarhof in the Champions League.
