Two new members in team Heimahagi
The Champions league will start again in approx. one month but the first competition will be held at Fákasel, 9th of February. These next days we will introduce one team at a time and the first team we are going to introduce is Heimahagi.
The team Heimahagi first participated in the Champions League in 2013. The team has made some changes from last year, Ísólfur Líndal Þórisson and Ævar Örn Guðjónsson have left the team and new in are Sigursteinn Sumarliðason and Sigurður Óli Kristinsson. Other team members are Guðmar Þór Pétursson, John Kristinn Sigurjónsson and Davíð Jónsson.
Guðmar Þór Pétursson, team leader, has been riding since he was a child and began early to compete. He got great results in children's- and young riders class and won many icelandic championships titles. Guðmar is a member of FT and has finished Hólar. Guðmar worked for a long time in America but has returned home, to Iceland.
John Kristinn Sigurjónsson is a registered horse trainer at FT and works at Laugarbakkar near Selfoss. John has been getting good results in both competitions and breeding shows. He won i.a. five gait in the Champiosn leauge 2012 riding Konsert frá Korpu.
Davíð Jónsson works at Skeiðvellir. Davíð has been really successful on the pace track these last years but he won the 100m. pace race at Landsmót 2012 in Reykjavík on Irpa frá Borgarnesi.
Sigurður Óli Kristinsson works at Selfoss but he has had good results both in competition and at breeding shows. He has been in the Icelandic national team more than once and been victorious at World-, Nordic-, and Icelandic Championships.
Sigursteinn Sumarliðason works at Ármót. Sigursteinn has gotten good results at the competition track both in sport and gæðinga competitions, especially tölt but he won the tölt at Landsmót two years in a row 2010 and 2012 riding Alfa frá Blesastöðum 1A.
