Hans the fifth team member
Ganghestar/Margrétarhof first participate in the league under this name in 2015 but before that the name was Ganghestar/Málning. There are two couples in this team, Sigurður V. Matthíasson and Edda Rún Ragnarsdóttir and Reynir Örn Pálmason and Aðalheiður Anna Guðjónsson. Hans Þór Hilmarsson is the fifth team member but this is also his first season participating in the league.
Sigurður Vignir Matthíasson, team leader, trains horses in Fákur in Reykjavík with his wife Edda Rún Ragnarsdóttir. Sigurður has been in the national team both at world championships and nordic championships. He has been very successful in both breeding shows and competition and has earned several world championships titles, icelandic championships titles, victories at Landsmót and so on.
Aðalheiður Anna Guðjónsdóttir graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólaskóli. She works at Krókur/Margrétarhof in the south of Iceland. Aðalheiður has gotten good results both on the breeding track and competition track. Aðalheiður has participated before in the league, she took last year of but before that she was i.a. in second place in gæðingafimi riding Spretta frá Gunnarsstöðum.
Edda Rún Ragnarsdóttir comes from one of the biggest horse family in Iceland and has been riding since she was a young child. Her father is the well known Ragnar Hinriksson and grandfather is Hinrik Ragnarsson. Edda Rún has gotten fantastic results in gæðingakeppni and has won many icelandic championships titles in children's-, young riders-, and adult class, such as in four gait on Reynir frá Hólshúsum at Íslandsmót in 2005.
Hans Þór Hilmarsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólaskóli. He trains horses at Kilhraun in Skeiða- and Gnúpverjahreppur. Hans has gotten great results at both the breeding- and competition track. He was in fourth place in A class gæðingar at Landsmót 2012 riding Lotta frá Hellu, he and Hera frá Þóroddsstöðum had the best time in 100m. pace in Iceland in 2015 and he was in A finals in five gait at the Icelandic championship in 2016 riding Lukku-Láki frá Stóra-Vatnsskarði.
Reynir Örn Pálmason works at the horse breeding farm Krókur/Margrétarhof. Reynir worked for a long time in Sweden before that. Reynir has gotten great results in competition and was in the national team for Iceland last world championship in Herning where he became world champion in five gait combination and second in five gait and tölt T2.
