New rider in team Auðsholtshjáleiga

The sixth team we introduce is team Auðsholtshjáleiga. It has been a part of the Champions league since 2010 and it won the team cup in 2016 for the first time. The first two years the team members where only women but now this is a mixed team. The team has always been known for their professional appearance and good riding. Small changes have been made but Árni Björn Pálsson has quit the team and Janus Halldór Eiríksson has taken his place. Þórdís Erla Gunnarsdóttir is still the team leader and other team members are Sylvía Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason and Bjarni Bjarnason.  

Þórdís Erla Gunnarsdóttir, team leader, graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar university. She works at Grænhóll but Þórdís has been around horses since she was a child. She has done really well on the competition and breeding track.

Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason joined the league last year. He works as a horse trainer at Strandarhöfuð in Landeyjar. He was the most promising rider of the year 2012 and has been really successful on the competition track since he was a young boy. He has been in finals at Landsmót and Íslandsmót and he has gotten several Icelandic championships title. In the past he has been competing on Reyr frá Melabergi and Spölur frá Njarðvík. He and Spölur did a fantastic job in the Meistaradeild last year and they also placed third at Landsmót in B class gæðingar.

Bjarni Bjarnason is from Þóroddsstaðir. He graduated from Hólar and has shown breeding horses with good results. Bjarni has been really successful in pace racing but he became the Icelandic champion in 100m. pace race in 2014 and 2015 on Hera frá Þóroddsstöðum. Bjarni also set a world and an icelandic record in pace on Hera, summer 2014 and again at Landsmót 2016 so he hold the world record in 250m. pace. Bjarni was also nominated as the pace rider of 2016

Janus Halldór Eiríksson works at Laugarbakkar in the south of Iceland. He has gotten great results on the breeding track and also on the competition track riding i.a. Barði frá Laugarbökkum.

Sylvía Sigurbjörnsdóttir graduated at the top of her class at Hólar as a riding instructor and trainer. Sylvía is really professional and has wowed the audience with her harmonious riding.
