Árni has switched teams

The third team we are going to introduce is the Top Reiter team. This team is one of the most successful ones in the league, winning the team cup in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and also it was selected the most entertaining team all these years. New in the Top Reiter team is the winner from last year, Árni Björn Pálsson, but he is replacing Jóhann R. Skúlason. The team leader is Viðar Ingólfsson and other team members are Jakob Svavar Sigurðsson, Matthías Leó Matthíasson and Teitur Árnason.

Viðar Ingólsson, team leader, works at Kvíarhóll, Ölfus. He is a multiple Icelandic champion and winner of Landsmót in tölt. He has been doing great things on the competition and the breeding track these last years. He was elected the sport rider of the year in 2008 and gæðinga rider of the year in 2007. Viðar won the individual competition in the champions league in 2007 and 2008.

Árni Björn Pálsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar and he works at Oddhóll, Rangárvöllum. He has been doing really well on the competition and breeding track. He was the rider of the year 2014 and 2016 and the breeding rider of the year 2013. Some of his accomplishments are winning the A class at Landsmót 2008 on Aris frá Akureyri and the tölt on Landmót 2014 and 2016 on Stormur frá Herríðarhóli. He also became the Icelandic champion in tölt three years in a row, 2012 - 2014 and also in 2016. Árni Björn won the individual competition in the Champions league last year and also two years before that, 2014 and 2015.

Jakob Svavar Sigurðsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar. He recently moved to Fákshólar where he is training horses. He was an Icelandic champion in T2 in 2010, 2012 and 2013 and also in five gait in 2012 and 2013 riding Alur frá Lundum. He was also an Icelandic champion in four gait in 2013 riding Eldur frá Köldukinn. Jakob won the B class at Landsmót 2016 riding Nökkvi frá Syðra-Skörðugili and placed third in the A class riding Skýr frá Skálakot. He was the sport rider of the year in 2012 and 2013 and gæðinga rider of the year in 2016.

Matthías Leó Matthíasson is training horses at Hvoll, Ölfus. He has been training horses for more than 10 years now for example at Kjartansstaðir and Þjóðólfshagi. Matthías won the four gait at the Reykjavík championship in 2015 and became fourth at the Icelandic championship same year.

Teitur Árnason graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar and he also works at Hvoll, Ölfus. Teitur has been really successful on the breeding and competition track, especially on the pace track. He became the World Champion in pace test - PP1 in 2015 and second in 250m. pace race. Teitur was the pace rider of the year in 2014 and 2015. Last year he became a Nordic Champion in pace test - PP1.
