Guðmundur is back
The second team we introduce is the team Hestvit / Árbakki / Svarthöfði. The team has changed very little from last year but Gústaf Ásgeir Hinriksson has left the team since he’s busy studying at Hólar. Guðmundur F. Björgvinsson comes in his place but Guðmundur had been in the league for many years until he decided to take a little break from it last year. Other team members are Hinrik Bragason, Hulda Gústafsdóttir, Ragnar Tómasson and Ólafur Brynjar Ásgeirsson.
Hinrik Bragason, team leader, is a trainer and a riding instructor at Árbakki. Hinrik has won many Icelandic,- World,- and Nordic championships titles. He has also been showing horses with good results. Hinrik won the A class at Landsmót 2011 and was elected the gæðinga rider of the year 2011. Hinrik was a member of the Icelandic national team at the WC 2013 where he competed in tölt on Smyrill frá Hrísum.
Hulda Gústafsdóttir is a trainer and riding instructor at Árbakki. She also runs the exporting company Hestvit with her husband Hinrik. Hulda has won many Icelandic,- and Nordic championships titles and has been in the icelandic national team many times. Hulda is the sport rider of the year 2016 in Iceland after great results that year, i.a. she was the Icelandic champion in four gait and five gait.
Guðmundur Björgvinsson is a certified FT trainer. He runs his business at Efri-Rauðalæk with his wife, Eva Dyröy. Guðmundur has been really successful at the competition track but he was i.e. Icelandic champion in four gait 2012 and 2015. He has been a couple of times in the Icelandic national team i.e. in 2013 he won two golds on the breeding track at the WC in Berlin and in 2015 he became the World Champion in four gait on Hrímnir frá Ósi. Guðmundur was elected the rider of the year in 2012 and 2015. Guðmundur won the individual competition in the leauge 2013.
Ólafur Brynjar Ásgeirsson works at Vöðlum in the south of Iceland. Ólafur has been successful at the competition track for the last few years. Ólafur did a great job in the Champions league when he won the four gait two years in a row, 2014 and 2015, on Hugleikur frá Galtastöðum.
Ragnar Tómasson is training horses at Sprettur in Kópavogur. He has been getting good results at the competition field on his horse Sleipnir frá Árnanesi and also he has gotten great results on the pace track.
