No room for mediocrity

Árni Björn Pálsson won the individual competition in the Champions league the year 2014 and 2015. Árni is in team Auðsholtshjáleiga but it is one of the oldest teams in the league. Auðsholtshjáleiga is currently in the third place and Árni Björn is in the second place.

The team has decided which riders will represent the team in the four gait competition next Thursday. Þórdís Erla Gunnarsdóttir, the team leader, will compete on Sproti frá Enni. Last year they also participated in the four gait and finished third. Árni Björn will compete on Skíma frá Kvistum but they finished 4th last year and Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason will compete on Spölur frá Njarðvík. This is Ásmundur first year in the league so this will be his premiere. "I think this will be good, the team is ready for the four gait competition. This will be a lot like last year. I will ride Skíma frá Kvistum but she is in top shape, light and fun to ride. She's a really cute, black mare, she's a lot stronger physically now than last year," says Árni Björn but Árni will ride the same horses, more or less, this year as he did last season.

When asked about winning his third title in a row this year Árni Björn answers "You can't answer this any other way - If there are any riders in the Champions league that don't aim for a win they are not in the right place as a competitor in the Champions league," says Árni Björn and adds "there should be no room for mediocrity in the Champions league.
