No changes made to team Top Reiter
The Top Reiter team is one of the most successful ones in the league, winning the team cup in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017. The Top Reiter team is the same as last year. Teitur Árnason, Árni Björn Pálsson, Eyrún Ýr Pálsdóttir, Konráð Valur Sveinsson and Matthías Leó Matthíasson.
Teitur Árnason graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar and now he works at Hvoll, Ölfus. Teitur has been really successful on the breeding and competition track these last few years. He is the reigning world champion in pace test - PP1 and won it also in 2015. At Landsmót Teitur has won A class gæðinga, 7 year old mares and 150m. pace race. Teitur has the icelandic record in 150m. pace. Teitur riding Hafsteinn frá Vakursstöðum were the first pair to win A class at Landsmót and fivegait at the Icelandic Championship the same year. Teitur was gæðinga rider of the year in 2018 and pace rider of the year in 2014 and 2015.
Árni Björn Pálsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar. He works at Oddhóll, Rangárvöllum and has been doing really well on the competition and breeding track these last years. He was the rider of the year 2014, 2016 and 2018 and the breeding rider of the year 2013, 2018 and 2019. Some of his accomplishments are winning the A class at Landsmót 2008 riding Aris frá Akureyri, winning the tölt on Landmót three times in a row 2014, 2016 and 2018. He also became the Icelandic champion in tölt in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2019. Árni Björn has won the individual competition in the Champions league four times, our more often then any other rider, in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
Eyrún Ýr Pálsdóttir has graduated as a trainer and riding instructor from Hólar. Eyrún has gotten good results in competitions but she won the A class at Landsmót 2016 in Hólar, riding Hrannar frá Flugumýri II and also became Icelandic champion in five gait 2015.
Konráð Valur Sveinsson has won multiple Icelandic championships title and three world championships title in pace. He became a world champion in 250m. pace and 100m. pace at the WC2013 in Berlin and in 100m. pace at the WC2019 in Berlin. He is the Icelandic champion in 250m. pace race and 100m. pace race and was that also in 2018. He also won the 100m. pace race at Landsmót 2016 and 2018 plus the 250m. pace race. He became the pace rider of the year in 2018 and 2019.
Matthías Leó Matthíasson is training horses at Hvoll, Ölfus. He has been training horses for more than 10 years now for example at Kjartansstaðir and Þjóðólfshagi. Matthías won the four gait at the Reykjavík championship in 2015 and became fourth at the Icelandic championship same year. Matthías was the third in tölt T2 and in finals in tölt T1 at the Icelandic championship 2019.
