Name and rider changes made to team Lífland
The team joined the Champions League in 2018, under the name Lífland, and won the team cup the same year. Now they are team Eques / Kingsland and team members are pretty much the same, they are Davíð Jónsson, Guðmundur Björgvinsson, Sigursteinn Sumarliðason, Hanna Rún Ingibergsdóttir and Ólafur Andri Guðmundsson.
Guðmundur Björgvinsson is a certified trainer and runs his business at Efri-Rauðalæk with his wife, Eva Dyröy. Guðmundur has been really successful at the competition track but he was i.e. Icelandic champion in four gait 2012 and 2015. He has been a couple of times in the Icelandic national team i.e. in 2013 he won two golds on the breeding track at the WC in Berlin, in 2015 he became the World Champion in four gait riding Hrímnir frá Ósi and in 2019 he became World Champion in 250m. pace race. Guðmundur was elected the rider of the year in 2012 and 2015, the pace rider of the year in 2015 and the gæðinga rider of the year in 2009. Guðmundur won the individual competition in the leauge 2013.
Davíð Jónsson works at Skeiðvellir. Davíð has been really successful on the pace track these last years, riding Irpa frá Borgarnesi. They won the 100m. pace race at Landsmót 2012 in Reykjavík, became Icelandic Champions in PP1 pace test in 2019 and in 150m. pace in 2017.
Hanna Rún Ingibergsdóttir graduated as a trainer and riding instructor from Hólar 2015. She works at Kirkjubær and has gotten good results on the competition track, a.o. been in finals at Landsmót and Icelandic Championships
Ólafur Andri Guðmundsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólaskóli. He has been working at the breeding farm Fet and has gotten great results at the competition and breeding track.
Sigursteinn Sumarliðason works at Ármót. Sigursteinn has gotten good results at the competition track both in sport and gæðinga competitions and on the breeding track. Sigursteinnhas been a World Champion in PP1 pace test, Icelandic Champion and a double Landsmótswinner in tölt, 2011 and 2012.
