Top Reiter
The Top Reiter team is one of the most successful ones in the league, winning the team cup in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017. The Top Reiter team has made some changes from last year. Teitur Árnason, Árni Björn Pálsson and Matthías Leó Matthíasson are still on the team but joining them are Eyrún Ýr Pálsdóttir and Konráð Valur Sveinsson.
Teitur Árnason, team leader, graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar and he also works at Hvoll, Ölfus. Teitur has been really successful on the breeding and competition track, especially on the pace track. He became the World Champion in pace test - PP1 in 2015 and second in 250m. pace race. Teitur was the pace rider of the year in 2014 and 2015. Last year he became a Nordic Champion in pace test - PP1.
Árni Björn Pálsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar and he works at Oddhóll, Rangárvöllum. He has been doing really well on the competition and breeding track. He was the rider of the year 2014 and 2016 and the breeding rider of the year 2013. Some of his accomplishments are winning the A class at Landsmót 2008 on Aris frá Akureyri and the tölt on Landmót 2014 and 2016 on Stormur frá Herríðarhóli. He also became the Icelandic champion in tölt three years in a row, 2012 - 2014 and also in 2016. Árni Björn won the individual competition in the Champions league last year and also two years before that, 2014 and 2015.
Eyrún Ýr Pálsdóttir has graduated as a trainer and riding instructor from Hólar. Eyrún has gotten good results in competitions but she won the A class at Landsmót 2016 in Hólar, riding Hrannar frá Flugumýri II and also became Icelandic champion in five gait 2015.
Konráð Valur Sveinsson is the youngest rider in the league. He has won multiple Icelandic championships title and two world championships title in pace. He became a world champion in 250m. pace and 100m. pace at the WC2013 in Berlin and he was also on the icelandic national team in Herning 2015. He is the Icelandic champion in PP1 in adult class and also in 250m. pace race and 100m. pace race amongst young riders. He also won the 100m. pace race at Landsmót 2016.
Matthías Leó Matthíasson is training horses at Hvoll, Ölfus. He has been training horses for more than 10 years now for example at Kjartansstaðir and Þjóðólfshagi. Matthías won the four gait at the Reykjavík championship in 2015 and became fourth at the Icelandic championship same year.
